Brian Moore (24 August 1921 --11 January 1999)

Och! I missed 'is birthday!

It's the birthday of the novelist Brian Moore, born in Belfast (1921). You may read Robert Fulford's essay,"A writer who never fails..." on him from the Globe and Mail.

Happy belated Birthday, Mr. Moore. May you be a muse to those of us who wish to carry on the writer's mission. Cheers!

I discovered Brian Moore's writing in 1991 and was most impressed with his interesting and consistent writing. My favourite novel is an "An Answer for Limbo" (excellent writing). I was so sad to learn that Moore had did in 1999 - it was soon after buying an unathorised biography on him called "The Chameleon Novelist". At least, Brian Moore left us with a legacy of wonderful books which never disappointed and always pleased.
