Martes, 3 de mayo. 2 more days.

Am sitting in a hot empty classroom, with the door wide open, listening to Compay Segundo's Lo Mejor de la Vida, waiting for a student who is almost three quarters of an hour late. He hasn't called, no. I had a pink lemonade, cold and in a bottle from the air conditioned lounge next door. The sign in roster and some books are laid out on a table in the patio for the lesson.

I'll pack up and go to the monthly Meeting of the City Council.

What are you all doing for Cinco de Mayo? I hear there's a party in Savannah. One big one, at least.

Well, he said two days later, there was a death of his close friend, who lives across state.

That doesn't explain why he didn't show up again last night, or does it?

Am I that bad a teacher?
